Authentic Shatta Hot Sauce

Shatta is a spiced-just-right red chili pepper hot sauce. Three simple ingredients, one extraordinary result! Kashmiri peppers from Azapli, vinegar, and salt are combined in exact proportions to deliver a perfect blend of flavor and heat. The peppers in this ancestral recipe are grown from heirloom seeds which were first planted by a farming family during the time of the Ottoman Empire, seven centuries ago. As they migrated around the Mediterranean, they brought the pepper seeds with them, planted them, and they are grown to this day. The naturally brilliant red color is a visual cue to the intensity, vibrancy, and depth of the flavor. Shatta can be used to enhance soups, stews, and sauces - or to add a kick to marinades. And it’s brilliant in a Bloody Mary!
